A Day for Being Back on the Farm

So yeah, we Portaled home from Louisville. I slept about 11 hours before that, after Grace and the Green Sisterhood apparently moved a 500 acre section of forest from one state to another. I'm still not sure why it was done, but I have even more respect for the Sisterhood and Gaia than I did before, if that's possible.

Anyway, today is a gentleman farmer day for me. I'll help with the livestock, then join my brothers Hank & Merle in doing some minor repairs to various outbuildings. Later, the three of us will join my dad & brother Bob for some wood cutting & stacking. After that, I'll come home and let Ben pour me a refreshing beverage while I work on a new QuestWorld quest. No firm details for y'all yet, except to say that it involves some James Bond style espionage in the Cold War 1960s.

And now, a few of the questions I answered during the LoonyCon linked Q&A at Denver Gamefest.

Q: Do you prefer working on tabletop RPGs or online RPGs?

A: Well, since the line between the two is, in most cases, almost gone, I'd have to say I like both equally. Tabletop is my first love and I play or GM whenever I can, but online is how I play most often. As far as actually creating the product...rules, setting, adventures, whatever...I'd say that tabletop has the edge on being somewhat easier, but that is canceled out by the online creative engines being able to allow so much more detail. On the other hand, playtesting tabletop games is way easier.

You can generally be much more open ended with most tabletop RPGs, which is a big plus for me, but online RPGs make you more credits. I reckon I'll just keep on doing both.

Q: When will you get up here again for a con?

A: The big plan is that a whole bunch of us Terrans will be up there for Origins 2012. I'm looking forward to it.

Q: How many bandanas do you own>

A: My house elf Ben tells me that I own 933 of them, including one given to me by the Wizard Nick O'Time that is enchanted to make me totally invisible, should I ever need that. I've also got about 110 that were made by you good Lunar folks. I particularly like the one that has the color changing nanothreads.

Q: What's new at your farm?

A: Quite a bit, actually. Several new fruit trees, about 16 new grape vines, a dozen new chickens, baby goats & pigs, a new herb bed and a brewing room that Ben and I will use to make beer.

And now, Farmer Doc is outta here. Blog ya later, folks!
