A Day for Packing Up

Later today, Grace & I will be hopping on board a train to Astoria, Oregon, for the wedding tomorrow of our friends Mick and Elena. It looks to be a big affair, since they both come from large families and they have tons of friends. Grace will be the one handling the official marrying duties. Afterwards, the reception should be as rollicking as you might expect when you get those of Irish and Mexican descent mixed in with gaming geeks, science fiction fans, rockers, rollers, rednecks and at least 7 New Races all mixed together and add food, music and booze.

In other news, Lily has been ribbing her brother about his relationship with GiGi. This is fair play, seeing as how he has been on her case for years about her on/off thing with a local Winged Cat named Apollo. Personally, I think Roscoe is a whole lot more likely to settle down with one partner than Lily is, but you never know.

Amitra K. asks: You have mentioned that your mother is a Gardener Gnome, but what type of Gnome is your father?

Despite the fact that he operates a farm and wears a cowboy hat & boots, my dad is actually a Music Gnome, as is his younger brother, my uncle Carl (who operates the farm across the road). They can play very nearly any instrument and both have excellent singing voices. On weekends, they perform locally with their band "Cross Country", which also includes my mom's brother, Bob, my cousin Tommy and our old family friend, John. They mostly play country & western music, but have been known to bust out with rock, pop, swing, blues and soul when the mood hits them.

Redleaf the Warrior asks: Sir Robert, when will you and the Lady Grace finally start a family? We of the Redwood Faerie Alliance wish to repay our debts to you both by gifting your children with many wonderful items.

First off, I am very honored that the Great Warrior Redleaf has taken time from defense of his King & Queen to write to me, especially since most keyboards are relative to your size as a river barge is to mine.

The answer to your question lies solely with the Lady Grace, but I will say that before the Change we were getting ready to adopt children and since the Change, we have been waiting until we were back in our 30s, which we are now. If I was a betting man, I would say that my wife is looking at a year or two from now.

Naturally, we shall welcome all gifts and blessings from the Protectors of the Deep Forest. Who would not?
