This is the encyclopedia for the Dociverse. This all started as a series of posts entitled "365 People, Places & Things" on my Live Journal blog. The idea was to post an entry every day of the week, with each week having a different theme. It was, and still is, both an exercise in writing discipline and a dump site for all of the ideas that constantly pop into my head. As of February, 2011, I'm not exclusively doing 7 entries for each theme, although I do have a great many 7 day themes already plotted out. Some themes might only get a couple of entries, while some (such as Average Joes) might get a whole lot more. I hope you enjoy reading the Doclopedia and please feel free to send me an email with new theme ideas.
By The Numbers
Have you ever wondered how many of something there might be? Maybe you wondered about the age of a person or thing at a certain time?
Cool Shoes
These shoes all confer really cool powers to the people who wear them. Will I eventually do a series of entries about Evil Shoes? Only time will tell.
Technobabble We Haz It!
If you have ever watched a science fiction based television show or movie, you've heard technobabble. Here now, a few new bits...
Wascally Wobots
Some robots are loyal, some robots are brave, some robots are just unthinking machines. On the other hand, these three are scalawags.
Altered (United) States
For some reason, I lost my mind and decided to do variations on the 50 United States. Now they are done and here for you to look at, but I doubt I'll ever do a theme that long again.
The Alphabet
This is my first crack at doing a theme based on the alphabet, but it won't be my last.
Tiny Folk
When Europeans came to the New World, the Tiny Folk came with them. This is only the first visit to this particular theme, but I think you'll like it.
The Undead
Here now, a fine selection of the undead, or as they prefer to be called, the living challenged. As you might expect, these death rejectors are not exactly what you might find in other literature.
Aliens!
Yes, there are plenty of aliens scattered about the other themes I've done, but this one is nothing but extraterrestrials. They are a strange lot, with perhaps the lounge singer/pianist being the strangest.
Lawmen
Where you find criminals (and that would be everywhere), you'll find lawmen ... and lawwomen ... and lawbots ... and, well, you get the idea. This selection covers a pretty good variety of cops.
Locations, Locations, Locations
If, as the real estate folks tell us, location is everything, then this fine selection of places should find a ready market. No, I don't know if they are close to schools or shopping.
Pulp Era Women
These are two-fisted gals who can hold their own against any trouble ... or any man ... that the world throws at them. Not all of them are good, but all of them can kick ass.
Pulp Era Dogs & Cats
In a few other realities, humans don't call the shots. In the rip roaring 1930's of these worlds, dogs & cats are the great Heroes & Villains whose thrilling adventures rival those of any of our own great pulp characters.
Steampunk Grrlz
These alternate Victorian women can handle things just fine without a guy getting in the way. Some are good, some are bad, but any of them can probably kick your ass.
Average Joes
In every universe there are ordinary folks who do ordinary jobs every day. In this section, we salute these working stiffs in their own words.
Islands of Adventure
So, these are islands and you can find adventure on them. Not much more to say on the subject, is there?
Places That Don't Stay In One Place
We aren't talking about motorhomes or camping trailers here. Some of these places are big and dangerous.
Strongholds
From fairy tales to roleplaying games to comic books to spy movies, you'll find strongholds of one type or another.
Knives That Do More Than Cut
While this fine selection of enchanted knives will cut things, you'll be wanting them for that little something extra they can do.
Power Suits
These are suits that power the wearer up to make things happen.
Things That Blow Up Real Good
These things not only blow up, they do some crazy stuff when they do.
Alt Rocks
This isn't about music, kiddo, it's about minerals that you won't learn about in any geology class.
Magic Items That Don't Look Cool
The following magic items look pretty crappy, but don't underestimate their power.
